AM Stations now have FM-quality sound
Stations broadcasting in HD send out a bundled signal in analog and digital formats. Only HD radios can pick up the digital signal. Regular radios can't. The digital signal delivers FM radio so clearly, you won't be able to hear the difference between it and your CD player. And AM stations now take full advantage of their narrow bandwidth so what you hear is the high-quality, stereo sound you've come to enjoy on your regular FM stations. This is the end of static and crackling.

Same local stations you love
No matter what additional features the Boston Acoustics HD radio brings, you'll always receive the same radio stations you've known and trusted. Any station not broadcasting in HD is still accessible on your HD radio, and any station broadcasting in HD will automatically be picked up in the new digital signal. If, for any reason, you are unable to pick up the digital signal, your HD receiver will adjust and play the analog signal.

Real-time artist and song IDs
Because you can pack more information into a digital signal than into an analog one, HD stations broadcast not only the station you are listening to, but also the artist and song title, all which appear on the digital dial of your Boston Acoustics HD Radio.

Traffic alerts, stock info and scores on your dial
Song IDs aren't all HD radio can show you. While you're listening to the local sports game, the scores will appear on your dial. While you're listening to the nightly business report, a stock ticker will scroll across your screen. When you want the latest traffic updates, they'll always be available on your dial even if the guy in the chopper isn't.

Multiple channels on the same frequency
Another benefit of a digital signal is multi-casting. That means you can receive more than one station on the same frequency. 102.7 is now 102.71 and 102.72. Just tune to the FM frequency you want, then select between HD1 and HD2. If the main station is rock, the second station may be classic rock.
